2.1 planning

This is my planning for my radio advert.

Create a new blog post entitled “Assignment 2.1 – Radio Advertisement – Planning”. Within this post, answer the following questions to help you plan your advertisement to promote Gateshead College, which will be aired on Metro Radio.

1.      Who is your target audience? (Think about age, geographic location, interests etc – how might you appeal to this demographic?)

Mainly students aged 16 to 19. Living in the north east. Interests would usually be TV, music, video games, sports and everything you’d expect of a teenager. Humor is a good way to appeal to this target demographic.

2.      How might you appeal to your target audience? (Language / pace / tone etc.)

Informal, usually fast paced and with an upbeat tone.

3.      Who is the company, and what is the product / service offered?

The company is Gateshead College which is a learning provider for 16+. They don’t have any specific areas which they are noted for. The product is education.

4.      How does this product / service benefit, improve or fill a need in your target audience members’ lives?

It will give them the opportunity to get into a career they want or to go onto further education.
